Keg Blanks and Keg Tenon Turning
Our CNC's are in storage and not accessible. We are waiting on concrete for the shop to be installed so that we can move them. We are HOPING to be back up and running in June, but at the rate things are going, its anyone's guess. Could be May, could be next January... Talk about frustrating!
Looking for keg (insert) blanks? We can turn them for you from your 4' lengths of cast acrylic rod or other round rod stock.
We will cut and turn your round material (no wood please) into blanks to your specifications. This does not include any shaping of the keg, only turning the tenon (dowel like portion or shank) of the blank. Tolerances on length are +/- .030" and .002" on the diameter of the tenon. We generally aim for .001" - .002" oversize from the specified dimension on acrylic material to allow for sanding and polishing. Non-sanded materials (usually Delrin/Acetal) we aim for .001" - .002" undersize of the specified dimension. You may request that the under/oversize method not be used on your blanks. The surface finish left from the machining process generally only requires light sanding with ≈600 grit sand paper and then buffed or flame polished.
Pricing varies by length and diameter of the tenon of your blank, but is generally $3.00 - $4.00 per part with a minimum of one 4' stick cut completely in to blanks (appx 9-11 parts per stick).
Tone Channel drilling is available. Please see "Small Bore Drilling" for more information.
Pricing may change depending on material and demensions requested and you will be quoted prior to any machining taking place.
